Founded by stellar educator and international consultant, Dr. Lorraine Monroe, LMLI’s focus is on improving academic achievement and increasing educational possibilities for students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grades. LMLI’s program is based upon Dr. Monroe’s decades of experience and proven effectiveness as a teacher, dean of students, assistant principal, principal, and Deputy Chancellor of Curriculum and Instruction in the New York City Public Schools. Dr. Monroe’s methods have been codified into a set of training and coaching tools that are used nationwide and abroad by principals and their teams to build exemplary schools. LMLI is funded by foundations, corporations, and individuals to conduct its Harlem Demonstration Dream Schools Program.
